Red, White, and Brew – The Bars to Be at This Fourth
July 7, 2019
There are few better ways to get in the Fourth of July spirit than with, well, spirits! Washington D.C. seems to agree. If you are over 21 years old, read on to discover some of the exciting bar crawls coming up near our ROSS college apartments, and celebrate America’s liberation with a little libation.
The All American (July 4th) Bar Crawl
Located in Dupont Circle, this crawl is an assembly of Uncle Sam’s biggest fans. Sport your best red, white, and blue (there are prizes being given out for best dressed!) and gather all of your friends for a day filled of festivities at the Circle’s most popular bars. With the purchase of a ticket, you will receive a souvenir event mug, party favors, entry to Dupont’s best bars, exclusive drink and food deals, and pictures from the event.
There is no other day of the year when you can be surrounded by thousands of patriots your age in such good spirits! Participating locations include The Front Page, St. Yves, 1831, The Mad Hatter, and many more. Drink specials begin at 2 p.m. and end at 10 p.m., and tickets can be purchased for $15.00 on Eventbrite.com.
The Rooftop at the Embassy Row Hotel
Who says the celebration has to begin with the lighting of the grill? The Rooftop at the Embassy Row Hotel has an all-day American celebration this coming Fourth of July, beginning at 11 a.m. This particular party is best for those looking to dance, as the event is played by a live DJ. There will be signature food and drinks all included in the $150 entry fee. Head to the hotel this year if you’re in the mood for signature cocktails, classic American grill appetizers and entrées, and a chance to win prizes!
A Potomac River Cruise
What could be better than drink specials, you ask? Why, and open bar of course! If you are looking for a completely unobstructed view of the fireworks this year, this is the option for you. There are several choices of cruise lines to book with, including Potomac Riverboat Company, Spirit Cruises, and Odyssey. Most rides last from two to three hours, and include dinner, live entertainment, and yes- an open bar. Seating on the top deck isn’t guaranteed for most of these lines, so make sure you get there early to get the best seat in the house.
From Dupont Circle to the Potomac River, there are endless possibilities for how to spend the Fourth of July this year. Luckily, these locations are all easily accessible by Metro and conveniently located near the ROSS apartments. Take a tour today to find out just how close to the excitement you could be.
