Four Lesser-Known Local Sit-Downs

November 9, 2017

Stop making turkey sandwiches and visit an awesome restaurant near ROSS’ apartments in Hyattsville, MD, instead!

Hyattsville is a great place to live. And when fall comes around, it’s also a great place to explore. If the town’s neighborhood feel and cozy historic district don’t entice you to venture outside the Bedford Station Apartments/Victoria Station Apartments, these awesome restaurants definitely will.

Avoid this season’s dropping temperatures by visiting one of our top four sit-downs…

This little spot is only a 15-minute drive from ROSS’ Bedford Station Apartments/Victoria Station Apartments in Hyattsville, MD. Fishnet offers a unique atmosphere and delicious, fresh seafood. It’s nautical décor and colorful, hand-written chalk menu make you feel as though you’re local and coastal at the same time. One Yelp user, Vlad T., recommends the Salmon Sandy with Spicy Aioli. Shown in the photo above, this scrumptious sandwich comes with a side of thick-cut French fries.

If you’re looking for even more local color, Franklin’s is the place to be. This quirky dive dishes out full-to-the-brim oyster platters, beer samplers on customized painters’ palettes and several original burgers. Not to mention Franklin’s adjoining “general store” and its artsy-industrial decoration. The restaurant is just a little over 10 minutes from ROSS’ apartments in Hyattsville, MD.

Mission BBQ

Although this restaurant is a chain, it offers all kinds of local cuisine. And with six different states to choose from, you’re bound to find your favorite flavor. One customer on Yelp, Rita W., chose three! If red meat isn’t your thing, Mission Barbeque also offers salmon and chicken, along with several delectable sides: mac n’ cheese, baked beans, cole slaw and more. Just a 10-minute car ride from the off-street parking offered by Bedford Station Apartments/Victoria Station Apartments in Hyattsville.

Woodlands Indian Restaurant

If you can’t take one more bite of turkey this season, consider this wholly vegetarian Indian restaurant. Just down the street from the Bedford and Victoria Station Apartments in Hyattsville, MD, Woodlands is only an eight-minute drive away. Several Yelpers mentioned delicious mango lassis but this restaurant is most famous for its giant dosas, full-bodied Mysore coffee and affordable lunch buffet.

Take some time this fall to check out these wonderful, local restaurants. While you’re checking things out, stop by and tour of our nearby apartments in Hyattsville, MD!
