July 19, 2017

From sights to see and events to attend, there’s always something fun to do around our DC Metro affordable apartments for college students – one of those things is Jazz in the Garden!

We know that your time in college is a season of pinching pennies and that’s why Jazz in the Garden is the perfect event for a summer evening with friends while on a budget. It’s also a perfect example of how our affordable apartments for college students in the DC Metro area place you near vibrant and lively areas with plenty of things to do for little to no cost.

Jazz in the Garden showcases the best of DC’s live jazz and offers guests a selection of food and drinks from their Pavilion Café. So bring a blanket and have a picnic with friends while enjoying a night filled with music, food, drinks and fun. We can’t forget to mention that you’ll be surrounded by beautiful art, too. Summer nights don’t get much better than this!

Jazz in the Garden takes place in the Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Art every Friday from 5:00-8:30 p.m., until August 25. So, if you miss one, don’t worry – there will be many other opportunities to check it out. Just pick a Friday that works for you, or plan ahead for an artist you want to see, and get ready for some fun.

Here’s what a few people had to say about their experiences at Jazz in the Garden:

“The music is always great. The overall experience is what makes it 5 Stars. It hits all 5 senses. You listen to live jazz in the sculpture garden, get a pitcher of Sangria (which is a must), observe the art work, people, smell the fresh summer air as you lay on the grass or dip your feet in the water.”- Be C.

“This is what makes summers in DC great. As a new resident to the city, I was surprised to find this communal event. Not only is it 100% free to lounge and indulge, but the international, all-age event offers a feel-good vibe after a long week of work.”- Jocelyn C.

“This was so much fun!  I was stoked to be around for the last one of this year’s series.  The Garden next to the National Gallery is so pretty and has some cool sculptures to look at too.  It’s a great way to hang out in DC and do it a little more like the locals.”- Sarah C.

There are so many things to do in the area that you’ll never be bored or without plans.
