The Festival That’s Best of All

September 21, 2017

If ever there was a great time to live in any of ROSS’ Hyattsville apartments, it’s September 23, the day of the10th annual Downtown Hyattsville Arts (& Ales) Festival!

If you know anything about Hyattsville, you know that this is the mother of all festivals. For one glorious day, the city is filled with music and food and beverages and poetry and art and activities for children and grown-ups and smiles and laughter and enough memories to last a lifetime. People with apartments in Hyattsville can just walk over to the festival site but there’s plenty of parking and public transportation to get you here. Here’s what you’ll find when you arrive:

TUNES—Six musical acts will keep the main stage busy from start to finish. Music styles include authentic Indian dance, indie rock, Cajun zydeco, surf rock, Americana and the rhythms of Brazil, Africa and Cuba.

ARTS—Exhibiting artists and artisans will be making their handiwork available for your perusal. (And if you see a piece that your living room can’t live without, pretty much everything you see is for sale!)

EATS—In order to keep your strength up for this grueling marathon of mirth, you need fuel for your inner fire. Our cadre of culinary wizards stands ready to oblige, with onsite tents, food trucks and nearby restaurants.

BREWS—There’s fun for over-21’s, too! A number of breweries (all members of the Brewers Association of Maryland) will be on hand selling their best brews by the glass. As always, we urge you to sample responsibly.

RHYMES—Passion is red,

Sadness is blue.

That being said,

Don’t miss the Zozobra Publishing poetry reading, three p.m. to four p.m. in the Maryland Milestones Space…too.

Let’s see, did we miss anything? Like hula-hooping, and visual art and performance activities for kids, and the Hyattsville 5K Zombie Run, and – well, you get the picture. So now it’s time to picture you and your whole family having fun at the…
