The Hunt Is Over

December 1, 2015

We’re in the midst of the holiday season, which conveniently coincides with the height of craft season! As the excitement for the holidays continues, the residents of ROSS’ apartments in Greenbelt will know exactly where to go to indulge in the holiday spirit as they find the perfect presents for even the toughest critics on their shopping list.

This Saturday, December 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Greenbelt Recreation Department Arts Program will host Greenbelt’s 44th annual Festival of Lights Juried Art and Craft Fair. This FREE event will be held at the Greenbelt Community Center, located at 15 Crescent Road, Greenbelt, MD.

To help get the residents of ROSS’ Greenbelt apartments even more excited about this year’s edition, here are four fabulous finds to look forward to at the Fair:

  1. An artist’s work you’ll fall in LOVE with – “The Art and Craft Fair will showcase the talents of more than 60 new and returning regional artists, artisans and authors in four rooms on the first floor of the Community Center.” With all of these regional favorites under one roof, you’re sure to fall head over heels for someone’s unique technique.
  2. How to wrap your presents like a pro – “From 1-3 p.m., artist Janna Riley will lead a free workshop in which guests of all ages can decorate wrapping paper for any occasion. The workshop takes place in room 113. Registration is not required. Wear your painting clothes!”
  3. The perfect holiday gift for that person who “has everything” – We all have that one person on our list who goes to the store and purchases everything they want…which leaves you in a tough predicament when it comes time to buy them a gift. But not this year! With the wide variety of ornate works of art featured at this year’s Festival of Lights Juried Art and Craft Fair, you’ll be sure to find that impossible-to-shop-for someone the perfect holiday present.
  4. Live music – The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Dixieland Band will be performing a free concert Saturday, December 5, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. in the gym. Okay, you can’t wrap them up and take them home – but after you’ve heard them, you’ll want to!

Wish the excitement could keep going all year long? It’s easy when you live in a community that offers the wide variety of features and amenities you need for the standard of living you deserve. To find yours, tour ROSS’ apartments in Greenbelt, MD, today!
